Grow a New Brain

Neuroplasticity in PD

   Watch Promo

While it is [virtually] impossible for adult neurons to reproduce, there is a growing awareness that existing neurons can sprout new branches and gain new function. Neuroplasticity is the emerging field focused on the growth and modification of adult neurons.

Not unlike trying to grow a garden, neuroloplasticity requires seeds, fertile soil, sunlight, air, water, and nutrients. The goal of this course is to describe the ingredients necessary for your own neurological sprouting. We'll discuss the importance of prevention and address early warning signs to suggest you may be at increased risk of neurodegeneration.

"Dear Dr. Mischley, Thank you so much for encouraging all of us to practice Intermittent Fasting! And, thank you for commending the outstanding work done by Dr. Mark P. Mattson in this area. I follow his PubMed articles closely. Many of them are open access. I fully believe that Intermittent Fasting is one the the most important ways to slow the progression of Parkinson's. Your year-long course has proved to be invaluable! Thanks for all of the time that you have poured into each class!"

"These 6 neuroplasticity lectures are absolutely inspiring ! All the talks have been informative, helpful and excellent. These new ones are awesome and exciting, putting "it" all together. I loved the images like cross-country skiing in new snow, also tried listening while I was in the kitchen making a healthy breakfast. Thank you, thank you!!"

"This is the BEST lecture you have presented! You are focused, confident, positive and organized. I live in South Florida--the high heat and humidity combined with high rate of COVID transmission is having a negative impact on my mental and physical health. I push myself to walk every morning for two miles. Everyday I do RSB via ZOOM and/or some other ZOOM cardio, stretch and balance classes. So, I do appreciate your very positive observations and recommendations, but it is a very challenging time for me. I miss the support of my in person classes and being present with other people--which I guess validates the truth of what you say in this lecture."
